Clearwater Beach

Clearwater is broad, open and easygoing rather than dramatic, with pale sand, shallow water and a family-friendly feel that suits beginners and anyone who wants a low-stress swim.

Snorkeling is decent in spots but generally secondary to wading, paddling and easy swimming. This is one of the better-equipped public beaches, with restrooms, a playground, seasonal lifeguards and a seasonal food-and-drink option nearby. It sits out by the airport side of the island, so taxi, scooter or car is easiest, though bus access is possible if you do not mind the extra travel.
